Overview
Our initiative supports the Rwanda Education Board (REB), the University of Rwanda-College of Education (UR-CE), and schools across the country in a phased approach to build sustainable, inclusive education systems.
Phase 1: Foundation and Capacity Building
Teacher Training: Professional development and coaching for educators.
School Development: Focus on quality management and inclusive infrastructure.
Teaching Materials: Provision of context-appropriate resources.
Networking: Establishing local and international knowledge-sharing networks.
Phase 2: Institutional Cooperation and Expansion
Partnerships: Collaboration with UR-CE, REB, and public/private schools.
Knowledge Transfer: Working with the University of Special Needs Education Zurich (HfH).
Teacher Deployment: Swiss special needs educators supporting Rwandan schools.
Community Engagement: Training facilitators and raising awareness among parents.
Phase 3: System Integration and Sustainability
Teacher Education: Integrating special needs training into UR-CE’s curriculum.
Inclusive Programs: Developing special classes and targeted support for children with disabilities.
